Ground-floor rooms
Two categories with no stairs, one facing the sea and one on the quiet side.
Comfort
The word "senior" usually means one specific thing in a hotel room: fewer stairs. Here is what this property offers, and what it does not.
In detail
Hotels use the phrase "senior friendly" loosely. In practice it comes down to a short list of things that matter enormously and are rarely written down: whether there are stairs, how far the entrance is from the room, and whether anyone will answer the phone at three in the morning.
Both Deluxe Ground Floor categories are on the ground floor and avoid stairs entirely. The sea-view version faces the water directly; the non-view version is on the quieter side of the building and, at 250 sq. ft., is the larger of the pair. For anyone who has walked a long way at the temple and does not want a staircase afterwards, that is the room to ask for.
Mention stairs, mobility, or travelling with a wheelchair when you call rather than on arrival. The hotel allocates the ground-floor categories accordingly, but it can only do that if it knows. This costs nothing and removes the most common complaint at check-in.
Puri Beach is broad, firm sand rather than steep or soft, which makes it easier to reach than many beaches. That does not make the water safe: the surf here has power, undertow and drop-offs. But the walk from a beachfront room to the water is level and short.
There is no pool, no spa, no lift to any upper floor, and no on-site medical facility. We will not pretend otherwise on a page aimed at people who need to know exactly what they are getting. If you need a lift to every floor or medical support on site, ask and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right property.
Room service runs 24 hours. It matters more than it sounds. After a long day, being able to eat in the room rather than walk back to a restaurant is one of the things that makes a beachfront stay work for older travellers.

Step by step
Stairs, mobility, a chair. It is easier to allocate the right room in advance.
Both Deluxe Ground Floor rooms avoid stairs entirely.
A short ride instead of a long walk through the temple town.
Cooler, calmer, and far fewer people standing in the sun.
The beach is flat and close, which is most of what a morning needs.
Powerful surf and undertow. Supervise children closely and do not go in alone.

No. We do not have a lift, and we would rather say so than have you discover it with heavy luggage. Both Deluxe Ground Floor categories avoid stairs entirely.
The two Deluxe Ground Floor categories. The sea-view version faces the water; the non-view version is on the quiet side and is larger, at 250 sq. ft.
Mention mobility when you call and the hotel will allocate a ground-floor category where one is free. It cannot be guaranteed on the day itself.
The sand is flat and firm, but the sea has power, undertow and drop-offs like everywhere on this coast. Swim only where flags permit and with company.
